So here goes…
Am I of the opinion that blogs are for self indulgents who think that other people really give a toss about their musings of the world, pictures of their cat, and reviews of the latest apple product they’ve bought in order to gloat?
Perhaps…
Am I of the opinion that I am that very type of person?
I could be. Anyone who has had to endure any period of time with me is aware that I talk too much, in a manner that makes it clear that I believe I have important things to say.
I know I used to be worse, I’ve certainly mellowed out (my apologies and thanks to the patient souls who survived my college days). I guess this blog is less about having strangers read and be influenced by my middle class bourguise opinions, but rather the opposite of voyeurism, where I feel I am writing a candid diary that no one will read. Sort of like the rush of flashing a crowd of people, with no-one noticing (not that I encourage indecent exposure).
Let me start by explaining the differences between me, and the default blogger I hope I’m not like.
- I don’t use, own or particularly care for Apple hardware. Granted, the iPod is a nice device, but I’m pretty happy with my Nomad Zen NX (and I can’t wait to get an Archos)
- I’m resigned to the fact that this may make me look like more of an amatuer and less of an auteur designer to my peers, especially those in the print industry
- I’m not a DJ, and don’t really understand that whole house scene
- I’m resigned to the fact that this may make me more “whack”
- I have a foster cat, but promise not to post much about him at all. He also doesn’t have a name taken from LOTR, Blake 7, or Red Dwarf (sadly)
- I’m not particularly interested in become a blog groupie, with trackbacks and all that jazz.
I’m resigned to the fact that this may change over time as I discover more about blogging and moveabletype’s Word Press’s powers
Lastly, I hope to slowly catalogue parts of my life I may find interesting in years to come.
